The main application of LHD (linear heat detection) is source detection meaning an early detection of the heat source. LHD is executed as a thin cable and can be applied throughout a company in great lengths. This way the LHD can be installed alongside possible heat sources such as electro motors, compressors, loading points, e-junction box, cable trays etc.
Since the LHD is not sensitive for dust, dirt, moisture and chemical influences it hardly requires maintenance and the risk of false alarm is very small. The LHD is available as a digital cable (Protectowire) and as a glass fibre cable that can measure temperature over the whole length.
Furthermore InnoVfoam developed the so called Power Breaker (PB) system especially for the protection of objects with a high risk of short circuit in electrical installations. This system is mainly for cowsheds, flower bulb companies, horse-riding schools, battery loading stations and houses with thatched roofs. The preventive PB system detects overheating in an early stage by a linear heat detector and sends out an alarm before a fire has even started.
