After performing a successful factory acceptance test, InnoVfoam has sent two foam firefighting skids to shipyard Lanaval in Bilbao, Spain.
The first skid includes a foam tank with a foam pump, piping and fittings, a control cabinet and a fiber optics temperature detection frame. The second skid includes the manifolds with system valves for 13 firefighting sections and a foam proportioning system.
The skids will be used for fire extinguishing on the car decks on board of the new TESO ferry “Texelstroom” . The used foam concentrate type is Re-Healing firefighting foam from Solberg Scandinavian AS, a fluor free foam concentrate that fits the environmental awareness of TESO. Moreover, the new ship will be sailing in a protected area of the sea: The Wadden Sea.
The FAT was performed in the presence of Lloyd’s Register and TESO. After the successful tests, the skids left the InnoVfoam warehouse. It is expected that the ship will be put into service at the end of 2015.
